Started in 1986 by Jim Hibbs and George Kemp, former directors at ABI. In 1993 they started exporting under the Hylander brand. In 1997 Coachman is taken over by Elddis, which is indirectly the reason to set up the Explorer Group. In 2000 a new factory is built in Hull. A management buy-out by Jim Hinns and his management team follows on November 13, 2001. Due to high local demand, the Hylander is discontinued in June 2003.
