In 1997 Coachman is taken over by Elddis, which is indirectly the reason to set up the Explorer Group. In 2000 a new factory is built in Hull. A management buy-out by Jim Hinns and his management team follows on November 13, 2001. Due to high local demand, the Hylander is discontinued in June 2003.
